We are delighted to announce that the 2nd edition of the Submarine Volcanism Workshop will take place this October on Santorini, bringing together researchers working on submarine volcanism, marine geohazards, monitoring technologies, and volcanic processes from around the world.

🌊 Core themes include:

• Imaging the deep structure of submarine volcanoes
• Marine tephra records and eruption chronologies
• Onshore–offshore volcanic and tectonic interactions
• New seafloor sensors, autonomous platforms & monitoring systems
• Hazard assessment and communication of submarine volcanic risks.

🛥️ The workshop will also include:

• A one-day field trip exploring Santorini’s caldera and Minoan eruption deposits
• A half-day interactive MATLAB workshop for geoscientists, featuring AI-powered analysis and workflows for submarine volcanism research
